Sensible Driving

Yesterday I was returning from my uncle's and found sumthing very strange. When I checked my rear view mirror and found a sensible driver behind me. Yes I thought that person to be sum middle aged and was shocked. You know he was just around mid twenties and was riding apache. Any guy who is at that age is known to drive that kinda vehicle in a mad manner(in my language "kirukkuthanama"). I kept track of his speed and was maintaining the same distance. I was awestruck. He was riding in 45 kmph and more than that he used his indicator properly. For the first time in my 8 years of driving I found a sensible driver. This I say because I myself not a sensible driver because I sumtime use more gas and ride around 60 to 70kmph. In my home I m a rash driver and even my bros. When I found one such guy like the one I have mentioned above I was really stunned. I even memorized his vehicle number and I myself amazed because I have memorized his vehicle number and still remember that, even after 24 hours. I wished I had looked at his face (He was wearing his helmet, GOD I missed to look at him). One sensible driver with matured driving skills and more than that he obeyed the rules. Hats off!!!(even though we may not have another chance to meet. But I wish I get one more chance).

Technologial Leap or Negligence????

Today a big event took place in the history of science and technology. It is called Large Hadron Collider Experiment. I m not here to discuss about the technical aspects and how man has made a giant leap in this world. The inevitability of technology is visible in day-to-day life. With the advent does not that make a man more insane and lethargic. It may show as the brain power but what abt the physical power?

Well that is not what I want to share here. When this experiment was happening there were many people in this world who were searching for the meaning of "particles" in the dictionary. Some said it is awesome to see the brain power. But they have to accept that there are still certain places where brain power is yet to be discovered. When I read how it was constructed and other details, I was awestruck. When I found that the experiment was started 24 years it started intriguing my mind. How much fund would have required and how long they would have invested. I believe that even if they had used 0.01% of the funds they cud have had better facilities to cure cancer and many other disease.

If they had invested in disaster detecting systems they cud have avoided heavy loss due to tsunami. It is not matter that matters for a common man. It is the event that happens in and around him/her. A common does not argue how earth was created and simply wants to a live a life contentedly rather than making any complications to life.

Negligence - This I say because they didn't give importance to people's life. If there had been better investment I feel they could have avoided even 9/11 incident, pentagon attack, loss due to earthquake, tsunami etc. I think they cud even avoid natural resource depletion and most importantly inflation that is much prevalent.

It they trying to find out how earth was created by nature and if they succeed that then I m sure if they invest properly they cud even find the nature behavior(worst case scenario) a bit earlier and we can never lose human power.

Just remember that TECHNOLOGY SURVIVES ONLY IF HUMAN POWER EXISTS

Standup2CANCER

Tonight I was about to switch off my TV but was caught hold of this programme which was on cancer. This brought out all of my feelings. At first I found that they were trying make some funds through the show but soon realised how serious they were all. Every time a person talks about his/her survival I was moved to tears. The way they fight(fought) that disease and other things are incredible.

I was totally in tears when a person told "I heard the first heart beat of my son when he was born and also heard his last heart beat". The boy was only seven years. It was scientifically found that 1 person dies 1 minute due to cancer. I was shocked by this strategy. Where is the world ending to?

STANDUP2CANCER is an organisation which has been started to fund the research that being undertaken for cancer treament. They have got this big support from more celebs across the world.

WHY NOW? with the advent of technology they are trying to make this world a better place to live. More than that they believe that they can find the cure for cancer.

I believe in them this because I had one of my relative who died of cancer. I don't want this to happen to any of my close one's. It is just not a disease it is a war between the human and the cancerous cells.

When the survivors were talking I found that they have found their purpose of life in this world. what am I doing? What is my purpose of life? All I do now is just put this post in my blog. I m not now capable of donating anything but I think I soon will do at least once.

Finally there the famous cyclist Lance Armstrong who posted the question to the next presidential candidates "What are the three things that you would do to stop the cancer if you are elected?". These are not the exact words.

I m least bothered about the answers since the answers should be from your heart and this will happen only if you see it with your eyes.

Americans have opened their eyes and started a mission. what are the Indians going to do? I think even our country has people who are suffering from cancer. Can they also do something like this? Can they make India a better country to live in?

WHAT YOU CAN DO?
Stop Smoking.
Never Start Smoking.
Manage your Stress.
Have a Mammogram.
Get your colonoscopy.
Get a Prostrate Exam.
Get your Skin Examined Once a Year.
Cut back on the amount of Red Meat you Eat.
Exercise.
Avoid Highly Refined Sugar and Transfat.
Add Anti-Cancer diet to your food like Broccoli,Cauliflower and Cabbage.

This is where the end of cancer begins: when we unite in one unstoppable movement and Stand Up To Cancer.

ReSurgent FED-EX

I know that this post is quiet late and this because of my previous posts which are unavoidable. This is about Roger's fifth consecutive victory in US Open 2008. I was not that lucky to watch this match. This is the first grand slam of the year I missed. But still i was keeping tab on it. Actually I had an opportunity to watch the match but since it was rescheduled I was not able to watch it(Curse me!!!!y did I go to tanjore?) . As soon as I reached home I switched on my TV to watch the match(starts around 2:30 in the morning and I arrived at my home around 5:30). But it was over so soon. I thought the game would be available atleast for 3 hrs and hoped to watch at least half of it. But it took only 1 hour and 50 minutes for Roger to capture the title. I got it all in the news.

AS IT HAPPENED.
Roger clinched by defeating Andy Murray with a three set final match(6-4,7-5,6-2).
Every body wanted Andy Murray to clinch the title. But my terribly wanted Roger to win the title. The first set started with all expectation and Murray was able to hold his serve(2-2). But after this it was Roger who dominated. He broke Murray's service and made it as 4-2 lead. The broke his serve again to take the first set 6-2.

Roger started this match with his own style by taking the first set. This is not for sure to happen again because Murray will try to strike back. This definitely happened. Roger broke Murray's serve and made a 2-0 lead in the second set. But Murray did not want to be laid back. He leveled the games(2-2). "Welcome to US Open 2008 final!! It is getting interesting now". The game continued and the score was level(5-5). Both the players exhibited certain amount of talent. This is the place where Roger broke Murray's serve.This was an expected one if you are Roger's fan. Then he took the next game and also the set with the score 7-5.

Roger punched the air with delight and he started sensing his fifth consecutive US Open title. On the third set Roger started making early breaks and made a comfortable lead of 5-0. The Scottish does not give. He broke Roger's serve and made the score as 5-2. But he was not equal to Roger.But he fought till the end. The point was deuce and he didn't want Roger to clinch the title very easily. He makes a terrible mistakes which earns Roger his first championship point. The enxt rally was awesome where Roger pushes the ball to the baseline and Murray sends the ball with a backhand. But this didn't last long. Murray's backhand caught the net and Federer fell onto the court and celebrated his 5th consecutive US Open title and his 13th Grand Slam.

Andy Murray said "I had a great tournament but I came up against, in my opinion, the best player ever to play the game today"

Roger said "All sorts of crazy people started writing me and trying to reach me, telling me I need some help either mentally or physically.To bounce back straightaway after losing the number one ranking, this is the best scenario ever."

This was the comment given by Roger on Murray, "He's got many different opportunities to play any player, I think. That's what makes him dangerous. He's got the good slice, he can come to net, he can stay back, he can stay very far back.So he's got three different options, and not many players have that out there. For this reason you need to adapt a little bit on how he plays you."

On the other side it was a thrilling final match for the women's title this year. Both Jelena and Serena were in good form and most of them guess that it would be Serena clinching the title (which eventually happened).

Serena's victory over Jelena was not that easy, the result was 6-4 7-5. IT was an usual start and the games were progressing evenly (2-2). Then Serena made her first break and made the score as 4-2 and changed it into 5-2. But Jelena struck back again and again and made the score as 5-4. Jelena had all opportunity to convert the match into her side but that did happen. Serena made a good serve to clinch the set with the score 6-4.

The second set also had the same start and progressed until Jelena took the break and converted the score as 4-3 lead and converted the points correctly and the score was 5-3. It was a great opportunity for Jelena to clinch the second set and make a thrilling three set final here on her first grand slam. But the opponent is Serena who doesn't give up easily(except to her sis I guess). She made a great come back and levelled the score to 5-5. Jelena has missed all the opportunities. She was not able to convert her break points into her set points. Then Serena made a lead to6-5. She was a game away from her title. Thegame became thrilling since the score was in deuce. Jelena was able to save the first championship point but not the next one. I think it was her double fault that played the part which gave away the second championship point to Serena. She converted it and was banana's over when she clinched the title.

It was not easy win over Jelena for Serena. She had to save four set points from Jelena. She clinched her third US Open and her ninth grand slam.

Jelena Jankovic said, "Serena was a better player tonight. Congratulations to her for winning the whole tournament. She was just too good. I really had a lot of injuries and struggled throughout the year with my health. For me to be in the finals was a great achievement."

WHAT DID I MISS?
1) The match between Murray and Rafael. This was one real match which had all actions.
2) Nadal in the final match. I wanted his to taste his defeat at the hands of Roger which didn't happen.
3) Missed Andy Roddick in semis never wanted Novak Djokovic.
4) The first thing on women's side I missed was Ana Ivanovic.
5) The William sisters met very early (QF). They usually meet at semis or finals.
6) Missed Venus Williams in the finals.
7) The women's final where I direly wanted Jelena Jankovic to win her first title which eventually didn't happen.

THE ROGER THING
Roger proved the media that they were all wrong about commenting his decline. He is still the king of grass. It is not necessary to be a Champion but it necessary to strike back and be alive. I believe he will definitely cruise past all the records and be FIRST FEDERER and no place for second.

Train Seating Chaos

Yesterday I returned from my trip tanjore by train. What a chaos in train seating. Due to insufficient trains in that route the ministry has added one more berth. The berth is called side middle in between side upper and side lower. This confusion occurred even when we took our train to reach tanjore. But it was more chaotic while returning. We checked with Ticket Examiner our seats and found that it has been changed. So we took our alloted seats and when my mom and my aunt were almost asleep that thing happened. a family came and claimed that that was their seat. At first my dad told them politely about the change of seats. One lady started yelling at us. She even told that they have reservation. I told her we too have reservation and don't think we don't have any reservation. Then her daughter joined the party and started shouting. I asked her to check with the examiner. She told that she had done and she was not informed of any change in the seat and ordered us to check with the examiner. We showed her our ticket and the change of seats and I shot back to her that it is not necessary for me to check. Her daughter gave me a dirty look. My dad signaled me to be calm. Then my dad took their ticket and found that the examiner has written the changed seat numbers but didn't inform these people. That left us and started shouting "Who the hell is this examiner to change the seats?" Now it was time for the examiner to face the situation. She was continuously yelling and other passengers got irritated. When this lap got over it was their turn to take the respective berths. It took them another hour to decide who is in which berth. I finally found that there were 15 members in that family and seats were scattered. I was wondering why they didn't make a bulk reservation and making others journey miserable one with arguments. If it had not been my dad with me I would definitely have picked my fight with her. I waited for them to pick up their reservation and so I could switch off the lights. I got irritated by their attitude and switched off the light and went to sleep heavenly.

If anyone is planning to make a trip to down south be ready for this kind of chaotic situation. For all these things we have to blame the Railway Ministry for not making progress in changing the broad gauge into meter gauge.

Incredible Bus Journey

Yesterday I was returning from tanjore to chennai. Since I didn't get my train reservation from tanjore I made the reservation from trichy to chennai. So I had to take a bus from tanjore to trichy. This was my first bus trip (long distance) after 8 years in a local bus. We didn't have any sleepr bus so we had to take the local bus. I will not complain about the seats. They were quiet comfortable and me and my cousin took a two seater. There was some video (old songs) playing in the bus. The cd was the worst copy I believe. For every sentence the video will stop and play. Me and my cousin were commenting over this and were enjoying ourselves. Then I found that it was raining and closed the window. Even after closing the window I had a feeling that some where water was leaking. My cousin was also sure about that. Then we saw our back seater getting up and standing. We thought that they were getting. Then it was our turn.Suddenly water was pouring from my side of the window. My cousin decided to stand. The conductor was a nice one and placed a towel over the place where it was leaking. I was cursing both my parents and my aunt and uncle for not having this situation. Then it was their turn. My aunt had and my dad had to stand. My cousin is a lucky fellow. He got an empty seat between two fat men. I was laughing at him. I thought my experience would be stopped here. We found that the water was cuming even down. So we had to keep our luggage in our lap. I cursed my mom coz she had taken certain unnecessary things from my uncle's home and I had to keep it in my lap(till the end of journey).

Wait. This is the best. With all windows closed some idiot started smoking the cigarette's small brother(beedi). I was nauseated. I felt like I should bang that man and throw him out of the bus. The conductor was kind enough to stop him. But it continued. Then the rain stopped. We decided to come back to our original place. I had to put a towel in my place and sit. I called my cousin and he thanked me for saving him from being jammed. But any bus journey should not go silent right. There comes my lady with her two daughters. She demanded the conductor for seats for them. Conductor politely told that there are no seats and be patient. She ordered the conductor to make the gents sit some where and give them a three seater. Wait. I found a seat in a two seater. It was occupied by a middle aged man. I told my cousin that if had been in that position of the daughters I would have asked that if there was a problem with him if sit beside him and would have made my journey comfortable. But these people are very conservative that they want to sit with the ladies.

Finally we arrived at trichy around 9:30 and our train was scheduled at 9:40. We had to rush with the dinner to catch the train. The train journey was an extra ordinary one which is my next post. I think I had a nice experience after a long time in my life. Hope to find another experience pretty soon.

37 days wait

Finally I got my LMV & motor cycle license after 37 days of issue of my LLR. I just want to share my experience in this post. I attended my regular driving classes early in the morning. I made sure that I do not bunk the class.But within a week I found it is difficult to get up early in the morning. So started bunking. But my parents weer against me to avoid the classes. As days went by I learnt driving quickly and was even appreciated twice or thrice by my tutor for driving correctly. This just gave me confidence. So I went to my driving school and asked for a date to take up my test. I was given 5th of september as my test date. Since I was having a family function on the same day I asked my father if it was alright. I was given full permission from my father. But it was a blow for me from my father when he asked me to change the date and reschedule the test next week. I asked my father, "What is the matter with you? I have done all this after making all inquiries and still I have to reschedule it." There was a strict opposition from my mom also. So I went to my driving school to change my test date. OMG, I was told that there was no dates available until next month. This is mainly due to the holidays that fall on weekdays. Now I had no other go than to persuade both my mom and dad (which I eventually did).

Finally the day arrived. My bro's friend promised me to accompany me for the test. I was asked to be at my driving school at 8:30. So I rushed up all the things in my home since the function was happening in my own home. After that I was asked to reach the test area. I waited for my bro's friend and we both reached the test area around 9:15 itself. We were waiting for morer than 2 hours and finally around 11:30 my driving school car came. Every other driving were having the motor cycle test first. My driving school opted for LMV test first. I asked my tutor if had to finish my motorcycle test first and he replied positively. So I waited there but was having huge amount of doubt. Then I asked my bro's friend to chek if I had to be at LMV test first (coz LMV test was happening in another location). I received a call from my bro's friend asking me to come for LMV test. He took mt on his bike and literally were following my driving school car.

This phase of the day is called DESTINY. I found that this was not the car I was given training. Alright. I thought may this was a better vehicle. Now my turn came to drive the vehicle. I put on the clutch and changed the gear. Unfortunately the gear did'nt change. So the vehicle came to a jerk and then halt. My examiner asked "What ma ? U r riding like this?"Again I changed the gear but it didn't happen. Now again the car stopped(engine fully came to stop) . I decided in my heart that I have to come to the test again next week (coz, engine should not stop when u r being examined or else u wud be denied ur license). My third attempt didn't go in vain. The car didn't play with me and I rode it smoothly. The examiner asked me to change the gear which I had done(HE doen't care to see what I m doing.). I was asked to take a right turn. When I was trying to turn the steering it was too tight. OMG, I thought I m done. He asked me to park the vehicle and attend the motor cycle test.

In the motor cycle I consider myself to be queen. It was I who lead everybody as an example for the test. My tutor told me to drive and everybody was asked to take a look at my driving. Since I had been driving for 8 long years and also had an under 18 license I knew the test procedure. Then it was over we were asked to sign a ledger and I was kinda sure of both the license. The time was 13 hrs and me and my bro's friend were too hungry. I decided to go to my home to check with the function and asked my bro's friend to carry on his work since I can manage rest of the procedure.

When I reached my home I found that the function was not yet over and will go for at least another hour. I was given permission of 10 minutes to be back at RTO for further process. I left my home without my lunch. Since there was no one to give me company I started msging mand calling my fiends. This killed some one hour. Then I waited for another one hour and received my papers. when they took a picture of me and my signature the time was around 15 hrs. I was made to wait for another half to check all my details before being processed further. Around 15:30 I was given an outline of my license to check my details. If any corrections has to be made then another process has to be done which will happen for another half hour.

I always have this bad luck. My address was wrong(not entirely). My area ia SALIGRAMAM and it was printed SLAIGRAMAM. I decided not to change the address since it was only minor. In another case (candidate) it was very pathetic to fuind that the address was having her identification mark. I felt very sorry for her since she definitely have to change the entire adress. By the time reached my home it was 16 hrs and I was totally exhausted and I was given a hearty welcome and royal food serving by all my relatives.

If anyone wants to take a license be sure you take your LMV and motor cycle together since you need not spend separate days and separate timings. I wasted two days, one during my under 18 license and another for my motor cycle and LMV license.
