WALL-E- The Movie

WALL-E stands for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-class.Even before the release of this movie I came to know the behind the screen works. Being a computer fanatic I m very much always drawn to the animated movies. This is because I look behind the screen. I like to explore how much efforts have been put behind these kind of movies. WALL-E was no exception. To tell the truth it even reached the pinnacle. The Pixar Studios are amazing at their work. I was recommended by my bro to watch this movie. Lastly I was awestruck when I saw Happy Feet. But this movie was far beyond that. I watched the movie over and over. The storyline was very apt that the characters took away everything. They have proved that the animated characters doesn't require lot of voices to express them. They have put the emotions (love, care, agony, rage, friendship and many more which may not be found in realistic movies) into the animations and blended it perfectly. A perfect movie on the whole if you want to be amazed by the technology that are used behind. In short, allow 90 minutes for your mind to look behind the movie. It is really awesome.

Festival of lights with no light

I had a wonderful diwali celebration this year. I got up early since parents requested me to get up early at least that day. Soon I took bath and was calling my friends to wish them. Around 6:30 people in our street started bursting crackers. At one point my bro told that something was wrong with the noise and found that the nearby transformer had caught fire. Firemen came and put the fire down. What do you think? This is chennai and everything went down. Yes it is power failure. So I decided to take a trip to my friends home which was in the next street. They were very lucky. They had the power and had no clue what happened in my street. I spent some time there and returned home to find that there was no power yet. Even though there was no power my bro dozed off(Ada Pavi). On inquiring we found that it would take another one hour to have the power back. My mom has not yet started cooking and we had a surprise visit from my uncle. She had to cook things that had to grounded initially. So she gave the materials to my aunt and asked her to keep it prepared and I would be getting it back after some time. So I m now assigned with a job called transportation(My mom never asks me if I will be able to go because she has the faith in me that I will do anything that I m asked to do by her. I really like this attitude and enjoy it). I learnt driving just for emergency purpose and now it has become my full time job. After some time I started to my uncle's home since there was no sign of power in my home. When I reached my uncle's place I found that my uncle has left for my home(my fate). So I decided to stay for a while in my uncle's place. When my uncle returned I found that there was no power yet in my home. The time was around 11:00 and my cousins promised to come to my home. I went home and found that my mom had started grinding other materials manually.I didn't want to disturb her and so I started digging with my novel and finally I ended up dreaming(Yeah, I started doing what my bro was doing for the past few hours). My cousins arrived and what do you expect. They woke me up. It was my bro who had nice sleep for 3 hours when I was doing some transportation job. Then we found that the power cables got fired and so the power will be resuming around 13:00. We had our lunch and decided to play board game. The game went on till15:00 and we didn't even bother about the power. By the time we finished the game we were enjoying the festive mood. It is nothing but spending some time with your relatives. The best part was that my bro was in home all day all along which will not happen in most of the cases. I think this time the celebration started differently and ended well.

Diwali (Festival of Lights)

There may be no.of festival but the only festival which brings out the smile in our face is DIWALI. Actually it was called as the festivals of lights because people used to celebrate by lighting the lamps in those days but it turned out the other way. Nowadays it is celebrated by bursting of crackers. But I m way out of this kinda celebration especially much away from spending the money on crackers. I was not born like that. I was crazy about the crackers few years ago but got over it in a matter of second. I thought about the child labor and my interest instant faded away. This year my celebration started in a new place. I thought that this area would be filled with the noise and dust of the crackers but it didn't happen as I expected. There wasn't much celebration in the mornings. It all started at the noon. So it went on like till the evening(late celebration). I had a different kind of celebration with my relatives in my home playing. We were really surprised that we didn't try to sit in front of the idiot box. Since I didn't go out for a long time I didn't know what was happening outside. When I opened the doors I felt sick. It was foggy and I immediately smelled the chemicals(from the crackers). I m very much allergic and so I got wheezing immediately. So the day ended with joy and myself with wheezing.

Was wondering how much people have raised the pollution level in just one day. They talk about all these things in normal but when it comes for celebration they forget everything. If you are not concerned then why do you talk about global warming and other things. Just keep continuing on polluting this world. You are making this world another planet where life is impossible.

When I was on the bed I was thinking why people wanted to invest in something that lasts only for few minutes. Why don't they think about the less privileged people. All I felt was that they could have contributed a part of the investment to some home or orphanage. I would always say that you have to visit these kind of place during occasion since you will feel how lucky you are to have a family and a place to live. According to me if I find a smile on anyone these peoples' face that would be the happiest thing in my life than anything. You would really feel contempt. But I guess even some of my friends are against me since they don't come out of their circle. I wanted them to see outside the box but they tend to confine into the box. The real meaning of festival of lights would be adding some essence to these people. They get some more light. I don't think that wold cost anything to you. Think those people as one of your relative. What would you do when any of your relative ends up like that. So I hope the future generation have some meaningful celebration rather than mere excitement.

A Nightmare(That I can never forget)

Last night was the wonderful night which I can never forget in my life. Before going to bed my mom found that there was not a single drop of water in our tank. So she put the motor and asked me to switch off after 30 minutes. I did my job and went to brush and found that still there was no water. I was perplexed and decided to run the motor for another 30 minutes. In spite of that I found there was no water. I was in a fix because my parents were asleep and my bro is yet to have his dinner. We definitely need some water for basic needs. When I was looking for some alternative my dad woke up to have some water. When I told him about the problem he decided to check the motor by himself and the time was 22:45. I was not all convinced that he should check the motor since we were expecting showers. After 10 minutes of struggle my dad found that his efforts went in vain. I had hunch that the owner might have closed some valves since there was some construction process going. I told my dad that it would be better to ring them rather than knocking at their door. Soon we found there was nothing happened like that. Then we came to conclusion that there should be some air block in the water line.

But my nightmare started after this. My dad started taking out the buckets and was wondering what was happening with him. He said that we definitely cannot be around without water. He decided that we both get the water from hand pump which was available in our home. I was totally frustrated. Me and my dad started taking turns to fill all the buckets with water. But what the main problem was that location of the hand pump. It was placed in such a way that any right handed people will be comfortable in handling it. Basically I m a right handed but does most of the work in left hand. When I started handling the pump I had discomfort. First my elbow started hitting the wall. So I switched to right hand which reduced the speed of usage. OMG. What am I to do. My dad did his part well and I didn't want him to handle the pump for long because of his age. So I did the full round with almost discomfort all the time.Meantime the owner who was sound asleep got up and came to look at the motor. I was at heart saying "Hey, We checked. Since there was no option we are doing this. Do you think we are crazy enough to handle a pump at the middle of the night and that too when a shower is expected any time.". But he did only his part. He didn't disturb us. In another 45 minutes we filled the buckets. I knew that our neighbors would be cursing us for making all the commotion at the middle of the night. I was totally exhausted and dropped my decision to watch a movie later that night. When we finished the task there was a heavy shower. We were lucky that we didn't get drenched.

Amazing thing was that my mom was sleeping sound in her room and she didn't know anything until this morning. When she found the buckets with water she found something was wrong. When I told her that you were sound asleep when we were struggling she replied back, "I remember hearing noise of the pump. But I thought that to be a dream and dozed off." OMG, it was not a dream it was a nightmare for me since I have never done these things and that too at the middle of night when the whole city is asleep. I can never forget this day in my life.

Rain Man - The Movie

What happens when u find that there is some one in this world for you after your parents and yet you are not aware of that person till you have grown and convinced that you are alone. This movie centers about the life spent by two brothers. Tom cruise who lives away from his parents is trying hard to succeed in his life not knowing about his elder brother who is autistic. One fine day after the death of his father he identifies that a huge amount of his property has been entitled to some unknown person. Frustration takes it place predominantly in the heart of Tom Cruise and so he tries to find that person. Eventually that person seems to be his brother. But due to circumstances he takes away his brother from the institution for a trade. His brother cannot live outside the institution because all his activities has to happen as scheduled. Tom Cruise faces all difficulties and tries not to harm his brother. At one point he realizes that his brother is good at numbers and was amazed by the memory he possess. He identifies that he has lived with his brother for three years and finds that he was emotionally attached to him. More than that he comes to know that he has become the sole reason for his brother being placed in the institution. Tom cruise decides to protect his brother and wishes to take care of him. But the court decides in another way.

This movie stars with a character which is very much money minded and consequently kidnaps his own brother for a fortune. As days go by he becomes emotionally attached to his brother. It shows how a man changes his mind and over comes the obstacles. Dustin Huffman have excelled in performing the character(autistic elder brother). Amazing acting by both the lead characters.

Madrid Masters

Well this time, in ATP Madrid Masters we have a new winner. Andy Murray has clinched his title to show the world that he is capable of creating records for the Great Britain. Sorry that I could not put a detailed post because I didn't get a chance to watch the final. I knew the result just by reading from the newspaper. Guess the telecast was at some odd time because I would not have missed the action even though my favourites are already out.

When roger didn't make it to the finals I was wishing that Rafael should not make to the finals. My wish came true when Rafael's winning spree was stopped by Simon. So it was definitely easy for the Englishman to clinch the title. However, these things didn't change the ranking position and the likings among the spectator. When I watched the semi's between Rafael and Simon I was amazed to see that the crowd was increasing for the Spaniard. In this Madrid Masters the top players didn't disappoint the viewers except for Novak Djokovic and Andy Roddick who left the series in the earlier rounds. These two players are facing difficult phase in the career and with Djokovic it is inevitable. He didn't make his reputation live long and has difficult years ahead.

We have got only two more series in the ATP series(Paris and Shanghai). If Roger had won this title it would have increased his points and probability was that if the next 2 titles are also clinched by Roger, he would become no.1 again. But he lost the chances. With this loss it is definitive that the Spaniard is number one at the end of this season.

Rain, Rain Go Away!!!Never Come to Chennai Again

"Rain" , the one word which brings smile to my face. Top in my favorite list and also my enemy(health issues). If at all it happens in chennai then that is biggest problem. My last week was very worst because of this rain. This is because I had many things scheduled and everything was spoiled due to rain. Firstly, I started on my worst day for visiting my physician. I started with my aunt from my home. At that time it was just cloudy and we didn't expect a shower for another 20 minutes or so. But mother nature had something for us. When we were on our half way we had the shower. We sought a tree to protect ourselves from the shower. We thought that we made a big mistake by risking ourselves in this bad weather. When the intensity dropped we decided to return home rather than proceeding further. I would have traveled only 500 meters and guess what? The shower completely stopped. What do you think we would have done? Hey We are normal humans. So I took a round about and proceeded to meet the physician. We were lucky coz it was just drizzling.

While returning I had a bad time. I had a two wheeler ahead of me without a mud guard. Since I m wearing glasses (definitely not coolers) I had clear vision with all these mud things(Lucky that I didn't run over anyone). Hell with the guy. He didn't know the meaning of the mud guard and I was helpless. I was not able to lose him and he didn't give up the task. I spotted many vehicles like that and I think there is one two wheeler which definitely can rise the dirt even to the pillion riders(I don't want to mention the name of the vehicle.) even with the mud guard. At least I can excuse this since you may not know the distance between two vehicles and the chances are that the trailing vehicle should avoid these mud things. But another thing happened, a vehicle took over me(tats not the problem) and there was a splash of water on me. God I saved my aunt from this shower. I eventually cursed and hoping that he too had his mud shower delivered by some other big vehicle. So when I reached home I was smelling like mud and was forced to take my own shower in this chilly weather.

Added to the above experience, when I was returning from my uncle's place I had a tail. There were these two guys who were singing songs whenever they passed any two wheeler. They never bothered about the rain while everyone was rushing to avoid the rain. I had them behind me for 500 meters and felt like I should give them slaps to shut them. Since the intensity was gaining I didn't want risk my health over them.

If you really want to know how our draining system functions(good or bad), just take a ride from Pondy Bazaar to Porur after the downpour. No short cuts and only main roads. If I m not wrong you will definitely reach the destination in 2 hours(if u take arcot roads). Being a metropolitan I think we should have better draining facility but I guess not. Well you can also find how good our roads are constructed. Thanks to the government for providing back pains and other water related diseases to the public.

Is It Time?I don't think so

After the US Open where I missed the final actions I wanted desperately to watch Roger play his game. Especially when he made a huge come back after the continuous loss in Australian Open 2008, French Open 2008 and Wimbledon 2008. I thought that there was no schedule on TV. But I was lucky to find that the telecast was at midnight. I saw the third round and the semi's.

It was a damn great show between Andy Murray and Roger. I missed the action between these two in the US Open 2008 finals. So I was very much eager to watch. But damn this government since I had power cut during the first hour of the match. So when I turned on the TV I was happy to see that Roger was leading the game by a set. But it turned out nasty when the next set was won by Andy. There comes the deciding set. I was totally thrilled. They both were equally challenged and it was difficult for either of them to break the other's service(3-3). At this time there was a break in the transmission but found that the channel was preparing for BPL(football) telecast. Hell with them. Now I have no way to watch the action. So I logged onto online and kept track of the score. The score was level not until Murray got the break at the right time. So the score was 6-5 with Murray ahead. It was a piece of cake since Murray was serving for the match. He got it.

It was like a revenge taken by Murray against Roger since he lost the US Open final. Murray has learned all the weakness of Roger since then and I think Roger has to reevaluate all his skills. Since Roger has been having a bad year the media has started talking about him to think of a rest. Even my bro told me that may be Roger has to retire (this was told at the time of Wimbledon). But I don't think so that is the solution. For anyone in a field there gotta to be both the sides and I think Roger has got the wrong side of the coin and I m definitely sure he will flip it the other way. All he need is just rest before starting the next year and to keep all the non-sense(media stuff) out of his mind.

Hoping for his action in some more years which are yet to come. I think He has many more to achieve. Roger is GOD of Tennis and he will not crush the hopes of millions of people out there(I am one among them crazily waiting for his actionc).

We are the idiots!!!!

Recent issues in every house is nothing but the financial crisis. With the increase in the financial crisis I think most people have lost their interest in the fuel prices. Recently I found that the crude oil prices had dropped down and our government is just concentrating on the financial crisis. Financial crisis is important and I think there are other ministers who can take of other issues. But I guess they are also interested in the investment. When government increase the fuel prices I find everybody opposing for the rise in price. On the contrary nobody wishes to keep track of the oil prices. I think the government take steps only to rise the price and not to lower them. We the people are the idiots who doesn't voice any opinion on this as financial crisis has topped everything. If we people become aware of the issues I think we would have better people in the parliament to voice our opinions to the world. I think people have to wake up from the illusions created by the government.

Dusserah(My 10 days patience)

If u are gonna read this post u definitely will create an aversion for me I guess. Because I m not gonna explain about this festival but my experiences with it. I have to say that these days I had different experience rather than from my previous years. The celebration of this festival started in my home at least 2 weeks before the exact day. My mom was preparing for a huge celebration since after a long time she was very much enthusiastic. First of all, it all started with bringing down the stand on which we have to keep the dolls. My goodness my father started preparing the decorations a week earlier and was working hard day and night. He didn't sleep most of the time since he was over going his plan. Some times I forced my dad and asked him to lock in his room so that he could catch some sleep. But that din work at all. When my dad was with this stuff I was guessing what my mom was with.

My mom was preparing for a hell a lot of things. First it started with buying gifts which have to be given for the people who visit our place. It is not that she should not do that. My point is I was her driver most of the time for buying things. Then she created a large menu which she decided to execute in these 10 days. I was amazed. Last year she was just keeping herself quiet and this year there was an out burst. To be honest I like my mom this way. She is highly energetic and vibrant and this makes herself to keep young and lively.

The awesome 10 days began. Wait. I had certain rules drawn by my mom.
Rule 1: I was refrained to go out with my friends if my mom is not available at home. I have to take care of the things.
Rule 2: I was forbidden to wear pants. Have been requested to wear salwars. (OMG, Why me?).
Rule 3: I have to take my mom to places where we have to do our visit (it is a custom and I have become a full time driver).
Rule 4: Have to help my mom in every single thing includes cooking too.(Not bad. This is actually very interesting).
I guess these were the rules that are very common in every household where they celebrate dusserah.

Everyday it was like a celebration. Most of the people from my area visited our house. Almost every day there was bhajan in my home. At one point I thought that it was freaking out and was out of control. My mom handled everything perfectly. As a part of the rule I was asked by mom to put rangoli in my home. OMG, I m too bad at that and I felt that my mom was taking revenge against me. But my dad always lent me his hand when ever I m in need. He helped me to finish with the rangoli. Then in the last 2 days I took my mom to my aunt's place as a custom. Then went to couple other places where I was stunned by the grandeur involved

I was wondering why people has started to be pompous in celebrating the festivals especially when involved with lot of money. In normal days you speak about inflation but when a festival arrives everything other goes out of focus. I just want to say that celebrate anything in a normal way. Just look back and find how your grand parents celebrated the festivals. There was nothing like giving gift for the people like how we do these days. God never asked for anything and why do you want to complicate things. There is no need to invest so much money in a single from which you earn nothing but fame. Just look behind how many has becum your rival and how many has becum jealous of you for spending so much money. I think life has becum so sophisticated that we think about the society and not ourselves. Before doing anything just think why is it necessary?Don't ever live like what others will think.

On the other I had 10 long nice days with my parents. I missed these days all these years but I m happy I had at least one chance to be with them and observe what they were doing. I really have developed patience in these 10 days(which I need not work on again). My parents were happy for the extra ordinary 10 days and I waited patiently for 10 days to get over just for one thing... to be a normal daughter and to have fun with my parents for I may not get another chance. My thought was if my parents have given 5% of the money involved to an orphanage or to an old age home this would have been my perfect holidays. Now it is only near perfect. Hoping to perfect it.

The two pictures in this post were taken by me. The first shows the decorations that had been done by my dad for dusserah. The second picture(as it says) shows the handiwork(that is wat I call even the worst work) that I had done with the colors.

Mamma Mia!

This movie is sensational for any music lovers. Basically I watched this movie for a single reason i.e. ABBA's Collections. I m actually crazy fan of ABBA and more than that I like any musical movies. I started watching this movie with much expectation and it was beyond satisfaction. This had the entire collection of ABBA's and the perfection was utmost. The placement of songs was apt and it was flawless. I think the director had a great idea of using the collection of songs. This movie is just one hour forty minutes long and almost half the movie is filled with the songs and more than that the story was not off the line. I was amazed how the creators had this idea. If you are very much interested in a music feast then I wud suggest you to watch this movie which has the best collection of songs. I would just say this movie might just be considered as a tribute to the ABBA, who rocked this world. It is time for us to remind the greatest collections of songs of life time.

Mobile Mania(Senseless attitude)..

People who crazily use mobile(like IDAM,PORUL,YEVAl thaeriyamal) and who are addicted to it please skip this post. This post may hurt you.

Today I had a long trip to Mylapore. I call it long because it took me 45 minutes to reach my friends home rather than 30 minutes which is the normal travelling time(for my kinda riding) from my home. The thing that caught my attention was my return journey. It was midday and every body was rushing through to their shops(Diwali purchase). I think I was lucky enough coz there were not hectic traffic as expected. When I was about to enter a subway(I don't think I need mention since tats the only subway in between vadapalani and mylapore), I found that the upper section of the traffic which enters the subway was not moving. There was sum problem. I thought that they were probably waiting for the straight traffic to clear out. When I was passing the juncture I found what was the reason for block. I saw that it was blocked by an auto rickshaw and people behind that were yelling. I was confused. Then I saw that auto driver with the mobile. He literally switched off his vehicle in the mid way and was chatting with sumone. I felt like slapping him. Since I was entering the subway I had no other go than to proceed further. I alway hated people who talk over the mobile while driving especially two wheeler. I have always felt like slapping those people and in fact have shouted at few people for this kind of senseless attitude.

I don't have any idea what important work they have than their own and others life? I really have to curse this fellow who found the hands free. Mobiles are found just to have communication in case of emergency and sumway of reaching in case of necessity but I never knew that this wud becum a crazy thing among people in India. Today a year old baby knows to operate a mobile (at the least to talk with their parents). I have cousins who have not even reached teens knows to operate my mobile better than me. I have even found 10th,11th students with mobiles even inside their campus. Mobiles have becum crazy than a necessary tool. I don't feel bad in saying that I m using mobile less frequently than my friends. I feel bored to send any messages and for this I get scoldings from my friends(instead I make calls). I have my mobile just that I can have touch wid my friends and receive sum important news. The most annoying thing is that people sending msgs continuously when some1 is sitting and talking with u. I have found many such circumstances in my life. Even if I receive any msg I check it when another person is not with(at least when not conversing or not present for the time being). When I cum with this situation I feel like banging the other person to the wall. It is very irritating. Place urself on the other side and u will urself feel how irritating it is(only for human beings...if don't feel anything like that better check with ur doctor for sum syndrome). I mean that try to give respect for other's feelings. I don't think u will lose anything in give sum time for a person(may be ur dad, mom, bro, sis or ur frnd). Technology development is welcomed but consider human relationship and feelings. When u find that ur mobile has no network and look for sum outlet there will be none. Beware!!!!!!

But it doesn't mean I don't like mobiles. I always liked to have sum upgraded versions of my mobile..but wat I meant was using it sensibly. I think I m doing it. Sorry if I had hurt someone.
