Sachin's Double Ton

I have never believed about god in my life but today when sachin was out in the ground I saw god there. Yes he is my god. At the age of 35 every individual in the world will look forward for retirement but he is one man who does not have the word retire in his dictionary. Sachin has created yet another milestone in his game. It can never be called as game, it is his passion. He breathes cricket in every ounce of air that he takes.

I was a bit unlucky coz I didnt watch this match(I was attending my friend's marriage). My dad called me and delivered the news about this double ton. It was unbelievable for me. After reaching home when I was updating myself with the details I realised that sachin would have gone way beyond 200 if Dhoni had given him strike. I think Dhoni didnt realise the importance of creating a world record which was never achieved earlier. In this case I always admire the west indies team for they always give chance to another player if they are in the way of hitting a century(Eg.Brian Lara's 400 in test).

I remember myself writing an essay on the favorite personality during my school days. I wrote about sachin and about his records. I still remember that I wrote asking sachin to hit 50 centuries, 100 half centuries in ODI alone. I think it will come true pretty soon.

The most important attitude about sachin that I admire till date is his modesty. He is always able to blend with youngsters than most other senior players. He never under estimates any blower in the field. He respects everyone for everyone has their own talent and that attitude has taken him to pinnacle of glory.

I watched the presentation ceremony of the same match where Ravi Shastri asked indirectly about sachin's retirement. I think his double ton has put an end to all such questions. He has got a lot more records to create. More than that he finds cricket as passion rather than seeing it as his job.

Hats off!!!!!! Sachin is God in the religion Cricket.

Expiry Date (About Suicide)

Tonight, when I was driving back from my Uncle’s place this thought was running behind my mind. I guess the thought came in the first place because I was thinking about my journal (short stories). I m not here to discuss about the suicide or why do we think about it. It is simple, I m giving my perspective about it.

Many people think about suicide because they feel that they are so unlucky or they feel depressed. When you think of suicide, for a minute, just think how difficult it is to create a life. It all takes only one minute to destroy a life but you need a sperm, an ovum and patience for 180 days for the life to come into this world. After coming to this world, we become a human with different characters and all of us (including me) give no respect to this life. Take for example, how we treat our body? Just pierce whatever you like and where ever you want, eat carbs and dump all the fat that we can, use every cosmetic to look young, sitting in front of the monitor for hours together (includes this post too I guess), killing each other for simple things and what not? We never respect our body in anyways.

I don’t mean that we have to pray ourselves and treat ourselves as god. What I say is that, the least respect that we can give to our body is not determining the expiry date by ourselves. Every individual in this world are born without their own consent or choice. In same way we need not make our choice to end our life in this world. This world is a great place to live in and we need to savor every minute given to us. All I want to say is, “wait for the end to come and not to print your expiry date”.

Sherlock Homes - The Movie!!!!

After a long time I have watched an interesting movie. Robert Downing Jr, the so called Iron Man, played the all famous Sir Authur Conan Doyles’ Sherlock Holmes. This is not an exaggeration, right from the first scene till the credits the movie was gripping. No other word than perfect can describe this movie. Every frame is awesome and no other movie can portray England in early 19th century. I am not going to give away the plot, for you have to watch the movie to savor the taste. Another point to be noted is the music by Hans Zimmer. He has taken one theme in particular in all thrilling movements.

The cast is apt with Jude Law as the famous Watson who helps Holmes to solve the case. The friendship between Holmes and Watson is displayed very well giving an effect that Robert Downing Jr and Jude Law are good friends from childhood in real life. The other casts like Holmes’ ex-girlfriend, Watson’ fiancĂ©e and most importantly the villain are very apt for the screenplay.

When LOR released I saw the movie more than 50 times. It has been three weeks since I got Sherlock Holmes and I have watched the movie 3 times. Though I know the end, I know the plot, I don’t find any reason to not to watch the movie again and again. I think this will take over my LOR record.

Australian Open 2010 - Men's draw

WOW!!!Wat a final!!! There were many anticipation in the men's side like Will Rafael Nadal come back with his winning streak, The new champion Del Potro to add trophy in his case, DJokovic to make his mark and Andy Murray for his first slam title.

Unlike women's draw the men's draw was very gud right from the first round. Everything was fine until the fourth round. All expected seeded players entered the round of 16. The hot match of the fourth round was between Roger and Hewitt. Roger eased past Hewitt in three straight sets. He didn't give any opportunity for the Australian to wake up and threaten him. With Hewitt, Veradasco also exited. The recent US Open Champion, Del Potro, who was considered as a threat to the top seeds was stunned by the young Croatian Marin Cilic.

Mostly the top seeds will be meeting in the semis. This year the clay king , Rafael Nadal met the Scottish, Andy Murray in the quarters. I took leave and decided to watch the match. I thought the match will go on for 5 hours since both of them are tough players. But the scott was having upper hand and was leading 2 sets to 0. In the third set Scott was up with 3 games lead when Nadal decided to withdraw from his game due to knee injury. It was a great upset not only to the tennis fans but for the Scott himself. When Nadal approached the Scott, he was so disappointed that the match had to end in that way. Even if Nadal had continued he would not have made into semis since the Scott was having the upper hand.

In the other quarters Roger was one set down against Nikolay Davydenko. In the second set Roger realised that he was slipping away. He was down with Davydenko leading the set 3 games to 0. Roger was so aggressive that he conquered all the 6 games in a row and won the set with 6-3 finish. This aggression continued in the next also where he swept the set cleanly with 6-0. In the next set he took the first game. He won straight 13 games in a row and stunned Davydenko. He won the match comfortably later in the fourth set.

The Serbian top seed Novak was expected to meet Roger in semi's but the giant Tsonga swept the match. This match was a five setter. Novak got tired as the match progressed but Tsonga was as fresh as he started. He found that Novak was getting tired and he comfortably won the match in 5th set.

The ace expert Andy Roddick was stopped by Marin Cilic in the epic five setter. Andy Roddick was no match for the athletic Marin Cilic. Marin Cilic being the younger player in the quarters was so full of energy. Andy played his best but at last accepted defeat at the Croatian's hands.

Roger stunned Tsonga in the semis in three straight sets. Tsonga was clueless when Roger was two sets lead. Roger was at his best. He entered into his 22nd grand slam finals to conquer his 16th grand slam title.

I expected Marin Cilic to enter the finals. The dreams of the croatian was shattered by the mighty Scott.

The finals was like the repeat of US Open 2009. Roger was so confident about his game. He got an early break in Scott's serve and so he took away the first set. The mighty Scott didn't give up and struck back in the second set. Roger was able to break his serve and took away the second set. With only one set away from Championship Roger was so over confident that Andy broke his serve very early. The Scott was leading game with 5-3 in the board. The Scott seemed capable of anything. My bro told me that this game will go for a fourth set. At my heart I was so confident that Roger would turn any thing other way around. He turned the score into 5-5 level. It was an awesome set. Then the set went into Tie Break.

Tie Break is a worst night mare for the Scott but he took an early break in Roger's serve. Roger proved his ability to strike back. He broke Andy's serve and regained the momentum. Andy had five set points in his hand to take the match to next set. He missed every point. With two miss in the set point he gave two championship point to Roger. But he was so tough that Roger was able to get his slam only in the third Championship point. Yet again Roger won the first slam for the year.

During ceremony Andy broke into tears since he was so near in clinching the title. This has so happened for the second time (first in US Open 2009). Roger was so proud to clinch the title as a father (his first slam as a father). I was so happy to see him smile because last year he was in tears.

With Roger in good form, Murray with passion, Cilic in his high energy level and Roddick with his new stat I hope the French Open 2010 would be a big treat. I hope the clay king, Rafael Nadal recovers by that time.

Australian Open 2010 - Women's draw

What a tournament this year!!! Well in the women's draw there was no big surprise except for the return of Justine Henin. As usual Sharapova exited in the first round. There was no surprise when Ana Ivanovic exited in the third round. When Jelena Jankovic exited there was no commotion. The big mom, Kim Clijsters who clinched the US Open 2009 didnt survive the 3rd round. She was stopped by Nadia Petrova.

When William sisters and Dinara Safina were progressing there were three players (Justine Henin, Li Na, Jie Zheng) who silently progressed. In the 4th round Dinara Safina was forced to quit due to injury. This was unexpected coz she was yet to clinch her first title. I expected her to be in the final with Serena to avenge her revenge. But unfortuante for the underdog. She have to wait for some more time to add title to her card.

With both Williams on the same slot only one of them was expected to be in the finals. Last year they met in the semi-finals but this year the draw was in such a way that they wud be meeting in the quarters itself. So I was waiting for the grand quarter finals between the william sisters. But the chinese player Li Na booked her place in the quarters beating the elder of the William's sisters. It was quiet amazing. The match was getting hot with two non seeded players and also two chinese player for the first time in the history of the Australian Open. Everything was getting hot on heels. The chinese players didnt survive the semis.

The finals was between the former world no 1. Justin Henin and current world no 1. Serena Williams. I badly wanted Justine to hold the championship trophy in her hands. The first set was in the hands of Serena. I thought that the belgian would not survive another set. But she stunned the world by clinching the second set. So the match was pushed to the deciding set. Serena was aggressive and Justine was no match to her. She finished the set in just over 30 minutes.

By winning this match Serena equalled her spot with Billie Jean King for securing 12 Grand Slam Singles titles. When Margaret Court handed Serena her trophy there was so much glee in Serena's face. The belgian has made a good come back and soon we can find real tennis.

With Justine back, Kim in good form, William sisters hot on heels and Chinese players with their ticket I think the french open would be great to watch.

Saturday @ Beach

After the blore trip everything in my life is pretty kind of different, especially getting along with my cousins, nephews and nieces. It always provides energy for me in a different way. One such another event is this beach meeting. Last morning I got a call from one of cousin asking me if I was free for the day so we could all go to the beach. I should say I was fortunate, so I took my bike and went to my aunt’s place first. Then from there we went to another cousin’s place just as a visit. We spent some time there and started to beach.

Since we had only one bike my cousin, myself and my niece decided to go by bike. We went to food court before going to beach. Then we were playing ball game. We went even crazy playing running and catching. This reminded me of my child hood (though I was sprinter at that time and not any longer). Then it was time for us to get drenched in the beach. As usual, my fear of large water bodies took over me. My cousin gave me the spirit and took me into the beach (I guess this is the 5th time I m giving a shot in daring against my aqua phobia). Soon we were joined by another cousin family and we all had fun in the water. I was taken aback when I saw how little niece was getting drenched when I was clinging to my cousin’s hand.

Well, we got drenched and the next famous thing in our beach is the baked and spiced groundnut (In tamizh masala kadalai). First time in my life I gave shot @ everything in the beach starting with shooting balloons. My cousin and I shared 4 shots each in a round (I think I missed 3 shots hahahaha!!!). My cousin and I went so crazy that we decided to go in the miniature version of the giant wheel (It is meant only for the kids below what, say 10 years). But we took a shot. It was an awesome ride. Then I thought why I should leave the Merry-go-round (Hahaha!!!!!).

It was time for our dinner. Before dinner, one of my cousin decided to drink a local drink called “Jigerdhanda” (sorry I m not aware of its English name). I tasted a sip and didn’t like that much. Then we made our dinner order. I and one of older cousin went mad about one local dish called “sarkarai pongal”. Earlier we ordered only one cup and later we ordered another cup. It was awesome.

The time for good bye came. I and my cousin came back in bike. Imagine fully drenched in jeans and a top, 60kmph in a bike @ 9 in the night near IIT- Chennai. Wow, it was amazing. This is one of the Saturdays I can never forget in my life. It has added essence to my life. More than that, I learned that these kind of get together bonds the relationship very well. The next day, when I woke up I felt much younger rather than tired.

The Year 2009!!!!

The year 2009 had been a great year in my life. Mixed with emotions and joy I recollect the happenings in this post.

January 2009:
As usual the waiting(call from corporate, don't want to disclose the "big name") continued. Got too vexed and decided to search for some other opportunities like BPOs. In fact I attended an interview but didn't join the company. But the sweet news reached on 16th Jan 2009. Finally my company called me for the training(Yipee!!!) to join on 25 Feb @ TVM

February 2009:
I was so blank for 10 minutes. Didn't know what I did. Got it, I was busy shopping for my training since it was out of Chennai. But a bombshell came on 13 Feb 2009. My training dates was re-scheduled to 4 Mar 2009 and also the venue as AHM. OMG!! was out of my mouth. My parents were a bit shocked. Then came the confusion in booking tickets. Booked waiting list tickets and finally confirmed the tickets only through takkal. Yippeeee!!! Finally I was going to attend the training.

March 2009 - July 2009(Mid July):
Amazing days of the year. Had fun @ my training centre. I would always like to relive those days. To start with was the holi celebrations which was a ice breaker between ppl in hte training period. For some health issues I discontinued and rescheduled my training with few other fellow mates. Still I had all the fun. The weekend outings to mall, search for good food and birthday celebs were awesome. The trip to dwaraka was amazing and unforgettable. I m so grateful to the corporate since I got few good and caring friends. In fact these days gave me an opportunity to blend with ppl to whom I have not even spoken in my college. My best friends bday celeb @ midnyt was awesome. I was planning for one such celebration for more than 4 years but executed it successfully this year. The training days gave me lot of experience like tolerance, happiness, friendship and what not.

July 15 2009:
I reached home at last. After four hard months I tasted home food. It was heaven. I was happy because it was my parents wedding day. I gave my dad a shirt and my mom a saree. Had fun in my home.

July 20, 2009 - Oct 13,2009:
The days in the bench. I had fun being the bench for some tym. Invited my friends for navarathri to home. Had some fun. I would be glad to back to bench for some more time. These days were gud because I started reading lots of books and watched some good movies rather than toiling in front of the system. The big family trip to blore, during September, for a family event turned out to be eventful. It was like a full family gathering for a week though I made it only for a single day.

Oct 13,2009 - Dec 31,2009:
Well, I got into a project thru my friend. Time for me to toil in front of the system. It was good initially to be inside a project especially with your own training mates. We had all fun and are still having fun. Birthday celebs,X-mas and New Year Celeb were different once we are into the project.

Dec 16,2009:
The big day of my life with lots of surprises. More surprises came from family. A day for myself. I can never forget this celebration in my life time.

Dec 25,2009 - Dec 28,2009:
The trip of the year. The trip to blore was amazing, fun filled and close to my heart. It gave me an opportunity to enrich my relationship with my cousins, nieces and nephews.

Dec 31,2009:
The last day of the year, I did nothing much. The first call I made on 01 Jan 2010 was to my friend Earnest followed to my bro and to my best friend Jaisree. I called no one else because these 3 ppl made my 2009 different from many other ppl in my life. I owe them a lot in my life.

Thank you all for being with me in the year 2009. Hoping to continue with you ppl in 2010 and many more years yet to come. I take this opportunity to say SORRY!!! if I had hurt in anyways.

The year 2009 was awesome and hope 2010 is also filled with surprises!!!

P.S. 2009 was so different as I entered into a new world called blogging full fledgedly. This became an outlet and also a place to learn many things. My special thanks to all my blog readers.
