If Tomorrow Comes

Recently I started reading Sidney Sheldon collections and this book was amazing. When I started this book I was not able to put it down. The pace was such an amazing one that I was not able to go to sleep when I was half way through the book. So far I finished only half of his novels and I think this has the best lady character I have encountered. The heroine starts everything just for revenge but finds that she is so smart to deceive the cops. So she starts to turn as a professional thief. On the other hand hero was already a pro in this field. The way two people tries to outsmart each other during the scandals is awesome. I cannot describe anything in words because I will not be able to find any thing proper to describe the feel. The way the heroine finds flaws in every security system to execute her robbery is the most interesting part. If she does not find any flaws she uses her wits to outsmart the system. The part which I adored was that both the hero and the heroine(in this case they are the villains coz they are the thieves) get along to do one final robbery before starting to abide the law. I would recommend the bookworms to read this book if you really like a female lead character.

A Change Of mind

I have never inclined my mind posting something related to cricket since I started blogging. It is a religion in India and for me it is another game which can glue you in front of the television for more than 5 hrs. I would never lie that I was not a cricket mania. But all my views changed when there was a scandal and I totally lost interest in the game when many politics was happening among the members in the team. Blah..blah..blah. I have cultivated a habit of myself staying away from TV and just scan whenever I have my breakfast or lunch or dinner. But for the past 15 days I was not allowed even for that. It was due to the England tour to India. My dad who is crazy about cricket watches matches between any countries(like how I watch any match related to tennis).

What I wanted to share was that the change of my mind due to the recent series. When I started watching the game in my childhood days Sachin was the GOD and is still according to me. I was totally amazed by the way the Indians swept the ODI from England. Especially when I watched the game played by Sachin. He still has all the essence and the right ingredients to be spilled to make a perfect delight to the spectators. Today I accidentally started watching the last day of the test match. My goodness I didn't move an inch. The way Yuvi and Sachin played, rocked the entire stadium. When Sachin struck the last four to complete his century and also the game I started to feel that I still have some thing for that game. I felt that I cannot completely hate the game because of some ruthless people.

The one thing that really stirs in my mind even when I type this was the way Sachin thumped when he completed the match. I have never seen him do that. I have never seen Sachin taking a stump as souvenir till yesterday. Today everything about Sachin was different. I felt like he was 10 years less. Even though I didn't watch much of the games I kept track of the happenings in the sports column. When people debated about the experienced players to be stepping out to give way for the young players, this man proved that everyone was wrong. He stepped today ahead of others proving that the age was not the factor and only the mind and the spirit. I think many players are yet to learn things from him. When I saw the way he played the game he let a word to the world that he has many more things to be achieved in this field. I wish him to do the best.

The past 15 days changed my mind a bit and I think i will be starting to watch the game again. But on my opinion no game can equal Tennis which requires the best skills like physical strength, mind calculation, correct anticipation and the power to deceive the opponent. These are just the outline skills. When you go deeper you will find how amazing the game is.

But I think it is mean comparing both the games, because CRICKET means TEAMWORK whereas TENNIS means ONE-MAN SHOW.

10 'BAD'things that are good for you

I came across this article around august and I feel that this is the correct time to put it in my blog. Why do I feel right now? This is because 7 out of 10 bad things that are mentioned here are the things that mentioned have become regular part in my life. So let me put them below and also why they are good.

1.COMPUTER GAMES
These are good because they try to improve the hand and eye co-ordination. Recent research proved that the children who played computer games showed high rate of analytical ability. But extensive playing may cause other effects such as isolation. It has also been found that it was easy to explain basics of physics through computer games and most of the school in London have started following the technique.

2.BEING A BIT OVER WEIGHT
If u feel that you are a bit over weight and are embarrassed about it then please come out of the shell. People who have BMI(Body Mass Index) of 25-30 are likely to live without cardiovascular problem and cancer issues. In simple words they are likely to live longer life than a normal person. However it is important in which part of your body you put the weight. It may result in diabetes. So if you are generally fit and active-and pear-shaped rather than apple-shaped-then carrying a few extra kilos is not worth stressing over.

3.LISTENING TO LOUD MUSIC
There is a scientific proof that the greater the intensity of the music the more pleasure it brings. It provides a positive energy to the body. How ever there should be a limit to the decibels that are formed. You need only 30 decibels to reach the sensation. Rock and Enjoy!!!!!!!!!

4.POUNDING THE PAVEMENTS
Most of the US people think that running along the road causes a wear and tear of the knee muscles.Research have proved that running strengthens the knee muscles and also reduces pain due to arthritis. So this means a regular exercise will help you to strengthen the muscles in your body. But old people should have a medical consultation before starting with this.

5.FULL-FAT DAIRY
If you have trained yourself to touch nothing but low-fat or no-fat,you might want to relax. People who eat full-fat food are less likely to develop metabolic syndrome like a cluster syndrome such as BP,blood lipids and glucose levels which cause diabetes, heart disease and stroke. In full-fat food, medium-chain fatty acids boost the insulin sensitivity in those with metabolic syndrome. CAUTION: It is only a part of balanced-diet or too many calories will put weight.

6.TEXTING,NOT TALKING (The best part which I do most of the time)
It is found to be a medium of communication between family members and the youth. Bridging up the relationship is done through texting. It is said that the people emote well in messages than the calls. They let out the emotion without any barrier. However it may taken either(good or bad) way. To avoid strain use different hands to text like how u use in the keyboard.

7.CAFFEINE(The ingredient which I totally lack)
Many assume that caffeine may cause heart palpitation and pancreatic cancer but on the contrary it prevents Parkinson's disease in men. It also prevents gall stones and also common liver cancer. It also enhances the performance of the athletes. Diabetic patients and also hyper tensed persons should avoid caffeine.

8.BEING A WORKING MUM
If you think that going to work, being in a family and bringing up your child will put you to your grave earlier, please take away all the nails and step out of the coffin. Women who combine a career with marriage and motherhood are less likely to develop poor health. But loner workers don't have this benefit but still are healthy than mums who didn't work.

9.WINE & BEER
Red wine helps in preventing heart disease. It does not stop there. The healing benefits includes the controlling of LDL Cholesterol in our body. This is applicable only to moderated drinking if exceeded will lead to alcoholism and other related dieases.

10.SUGARY SOFT DRINKS
Diet- drinks means that they don't have virtual calories. Research proves that people who drink diet-soft drinks were far likely to become overweight or obese than those drinking the same amount of non- diet drinking. But people are always deceived. They think that by taking a diet coke they can have an extra chocolate bar. To lose weight still you have to cut down your calories.

So now check yourself if you are having any bad habit that might be helpful for you. I guess I have found 7 habits that I have but then also I have to keep them in check to avoid the reversal effects.

Duo

Two days ago there were two things hot around chennai. First was the rain which swept away the entire city and made everything stand still. The next one was the Mumbai blast. Well in case of the first one I was the direct victim and in the other case I was an indirect victim.

RAIN IN CHENNAI
Well I think I have had enough of rain in my life. When rain happened for the last time I was a college student and it was a different experience. This time I would say it had some impact on me. I had to worry much about the rising level of the water in my area. With the heavy rain came the power failure. I had power failure for more than 24 hours. So had nothing to do with. But this rain gave some time with my family. Especially held my bro from his work. We had some nice time like family talk and playing and many other things. Since the power failure lasted for more than 24 hours we were worried about water. This water I m talking about is related to the water that we use for basic amenities. So my mom started doing RWH. Yes she simply started putting buckets to save some rain water. I thought our area was the only area affected by power failure but soon found that many area was affected too(at heart I felt welcome aboard). So I started calling my friends to kill some time and also to share some worst experiences with the rain. When I had finished my bro took his turn to call followed by my dad and mom. When everybody was out of option we started playing. Due to power failure my bro lost his charge on his mobile. So there was no disturbance from his side. Then my mobile lost its network and then its charge so no disturbance from my side. We felt how useful the landlines are at this situation. During these hours Some thing struck my mind. I was wondering how my dad and mom lived in a village without power and how they had spent their childhood. For a day I was taken to their life. Yes especially spending lots of time with your loved ones. I felt happy even with the power failure. So this was the first part running in my mind.

MUMBAI BLAST
After the first spell of rain started I didn't switch on my TV and continued digging with my book. At midnight my bro returned from his work and switched on the TV even before changing his clothes. It was at that time I came to know about the Mumbai blast and the related incident. At first I thought it was a small blast and nothing gonna change. So I went to sleep. The next morning I woke up early to catch up the news and found that it had gone ahead than expected. So I was glued to the idiot box(sensible for part time). Around 10:30 I had power failure. I cursed the technicians and even the minister. I was not at all able to take away the thought from my mind. So after some time started making calls to few friends to know the progress and eventually nothing came up. I was totally frustrated. I tried myself to keep diverted but was wondering what was happening in Mumbai. Around 20:00 hours I started calling the electricity board but everything went vain. Around 23:00 hours we got the information that power will be resumed only after the water completely drains. So we all tried to go to sleep. I had sleepless night because I was thinking about the Mumbai blast. No one related to me was a victim but at heart I felt a bit connected. Especially when I received some updates about the killings. The next day I called up my friend and found that there was power in his home. I asked him the update and was really shocked by the answer he gave. He asked me, "What is happening in Mumbai and why are so worried?". I was saying to myself, "Ada pavi, angae uyir poitu irukku nee sarva sadharnama kaekuriyae da?" . Now I started wondering how many really cared for those people affected by the blast. Around 15:00 hours (the next day) I had my power back and immediately switched on the TV. When the siege got over I was totally relieved.

WHERE DO WE STAND?
Every time we are affected my natural calamity or by terrorists attack we talk about the lack of relief measures and security measures but how far do we implement anything is a big question that stand in front of us. Every time an attack takes place we think of all the prior incidents but do we really learn from them. I really doubt that. The security measures should have been improved when the parliament attack happened. The relief measures should have been improved when the natural calamity had hit last time. But we don't learn anything from them but we take opportunity to dig deeper to find the faults. I think it is time for the Indian people to think reasonably. We cannot be sitting in our house and just comment. If we cannot take any action for the natural calamity I think we have every right to change the history. Yes I think we have every right to question the security measures that are taken. Will people ever realize how we are being trumpets in the hands of both nature and politicians? I don't think that civilians should be affected because of some insane leaders. But I m sure that these things will not change without questioning and with a huge population like in our nation it makes beyond difficult.

When the northern parts were mourning for some goon activities the southern part was mourning due to the natural calamity. Now it is time for us to check where do we stand,"Is India a developing country or is it a third world which is yet to be developed?".I felt heart broken when I found that even my friend was not at all aware of the world around him. With these kinds of people I think that those who wish to rise the question can only be a mere spectator than a creator. If it ever happens then India would be looked upon by other countries.

The Moment Of Truth

Since I was VO I started watching many series in the idiot box and was really got attracted to this one particular show. The show is "THE MOMENT OF TRUTH". Our KBC is based on this but here it is very very different. This has 5 levels of questions which are from your personal life. First level has 6 questions and if you are truthful to the answers you will get 10,000 US$. In the second level 5 questions to raise the prize money to 25,000 US$ and so on till 100,000 US$. Totally there are 21 questions which are very much personal. Okie here comes this question in your mind. How come the programmers know what you are saying is truth are not. You are subjected to a polygraph test or a lie detector with 51 questions and will be having a thorough background check. Simply digging deeper in your life history to bring out the dark secrets from your life. The 21 questions are from the 51 questions that you have answered earlier. Naturally when you lie the computer will reveal the truth.

The best parts are as follows. You will be having you family, friends and colleagues with you. There are no chances to skip a question once you hear that. So you must answer when you hear the question. You will be having only one chance of skipping the question that will be opted by any of your family members or friends or colleagues. But you will be having a substitute question for that. I watched 10 episodes and was totally shocked to see the dark sides of few people. Especially when people break down at some time wanting not have opted to participate in the game. I was wondering what would be the consequences after the game. If you watch the show you would definitely understand how difficult it is to stand the chance of winning the prize money.

Some of the questions which I think I can post here to make you feel how difficult it is to participate in the game.
1. Will you blame your father for spoiling your childhood?(while her father was right there)
2. Would you ask your sister to be your maid of honor for your wedding?(sister present)
3. Do you think your friend will not succeed in his career?(friend present)
4. Have you fired someone so that you can have your friend on that post?(Boss Present)

All the above questions had a positive answer which shocked the persons involved. These are level 1 questions. When we go to the next level(I definitely cannot post the questions) the deepest secrets spills out. I was wondering why did they wanted to participated. Is that they wanted to let the truth out or is it the money that they are desperately in need. Phew.. I was really confused to see these people there for the money. For the sake of money they are ready to spoil their life and more than that they are ready to crush their close one's heart.

Simply, Dig your own grave deeper and deeper to spill out the darkest secrets which you can not hold any more.

Rabbit Proof Fence

What if the government kidnaps ur child? So this is what is this movie about. It is a real life story. It all revolves around the years when the government started kidnapping the young black children in Australia to evade the blacks out of community after three generation. Even before starting to watch the movie I came to know that this movie requires some patience. The movie starts by depicting how 3 girls are happily living in their locality without being affected by the actions taken by the government. But soon the government comes to know about these girls and lures the family to a place where they can easily kidnap the girls. The three girls are kidnapped right in front of their mothers who are helpless than to cry about it. When they reach a camp the girls find many children of their age who are helpless in that camp. They are taught in the camp how to behave like English people and the communication only in English and many other things. If they try to escape or captured while escaping they would be lashed. The English men uses a black man called tracker to track down the escaped children. The tracker is known for his skill of identifying the tracks of the escaped children. After two days in the camp, the eldest of the three decides to escape with her sister. She takes a good care that the tracker will not be able to identify their track. When the people in the camp realizes about their escape they start tracking down them but eventually fails because of the rain(the tracks are destroyed). On their way back these girls face many difficulties like finding food and shelter. The only way to reach their home is to follow the Rabbit Proof Fence. Soon the eldest finds the fence and starts walking towards their home. By this time it has been a week since the girls had been missing from the camp. On the way the girl learns that she is on the wrong side of the fence and a man helps her to find the way to the fence(the right one). On the other hand the chief of this commission is frustrated that the girls are too clever. He decides to trap the girls by spreading false news about their parents. The tracker at one point realizes that the eldest is very smart and he smiles to himself. The eldest realizes the trap but the middle one gets caught by the government again. So only the eldest and youngest proceed the long journey to their home. On their way they overcome a place where the fence ends in the desert. They proceed without having any clue about their place and destination. When they were about to lose their hope they find the other end of the fence and reaches their home.

The impressive part is that when the girls find the fence for the first time their mother other touches the fence on the other end which shows the connection between them. When the girl is lost to the government the eldest realizes that she had not been responsible. The movie ends in a classic way of picturing the live characters who escaped to live a life of their choice. It also says that the eldest was abducted again after few years with her children and she traveled back home again. She lost her child to the government when the child was 3 years and has never seen her again. Their escape has been a history since no children escaped the camp before and after that. A real life history which touches the heart if u have one. If you are not particular about the genre of the movie please watch this movie. A classical one which depicts how fortunate we are to live a life like this.

Rules are to be in paper only

After the Sleepless In Chennai episode, my day was a bad one. Yes my friend haD asked me to accompany her for the RTO test. So this is my third visit to the test and a whole day of waste things that happen in the name of test. She came to my home around 09:00 in the morning. I had only two hours of sleep and my mom wasn't home and everything was out of control when she arrived. I told my friend about the last nite(Sleepless in Chennai). She told me it was alright that nothing will happen to me if I was away from a day's sleep. I liked my friends for being friendly(but not today). But I committed something and should not give up. We reached the ground for the test and there was no one. We found a wall(kutti chavaru in tamil) and decided to sit there. Since we met after long time we were keeping tabs on our life. I was quite impressed how my friend has changed over a period of time(change is only thing that is unchanged na). Then people started coming and we went inside the ground. There was some official who barged at us for entering in to the ground and driving the vehicle(hell with him). We waited for more people to come. Time started running. Around 10:30 hrs we were out of topic and we were too tired even to talk. Around 11:00 my eyes started begging me for rest. But I showed nothing to my friend.Eventually she found that I was becoming restless. Then we decided that after the test gets over she would drop me in my home and she will be continuing to the RTO for other procedures. We waited till 12:30 and it was time for her test. I told her the way to put eight. Then I her instructor also taught her the method. It is not a big deal. This would be easy for a person who drives vehicle for a year continuously. When the test began I was totally shocked. Not even a single person used the rules like signaling while turning. My god what for the rules are drawn. I found another thing. There will be a book where you have to sign after you finish the test. But here they signed earlier. All people who appeared got the license irrespective of driving manners. I think this is the rise for the number of accidents in chennai. I think, only if the personnel become as strict as in gulf countries, the accidents rates can be reduced. You should be wondering why I m mentioning gulf countries coz my cousin appeared for the test for 5 times. If ur not wearing the seat belt then you will not be able to proceed further. So just think how difficult it is to get a license and in our place as a matter of thing we give money and get the license. I think this includes me but I have followed the rules properly and even on the road tried(continuing) to be sensible not like some craps.
